The Girls Go Circular project brings together 6 organisations: the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, JA Europe, DLEARN, Young Initiative Association Romania, Sostenibilidad Etica, and brainshuttle and is managed by EIT RawMaterials, EIT Manufacturing, EIT Climate-KIC and EIT Food. This project aims to support schoolgirls and, broadly, students to develop their digital and leadership skills all while developing their knowledge of the circular economy and exploring solutions to build a sustainable future.
The project has adopted a learn-by-doing approach to engage students in different activities such as online research, entrepreneurial role-plays or challenge-based exercises. The digital skills the students develop are in line with the areas of competence 1 to 3 of the EU Digital Competence Framework 2.0. An online platform – Circular Learning Space – has been created to help students access the resources needed to develop their skills.
